A
headboard makes a bedroom real. For me, it means that you are now a serious person
doing serious things with your nightlife ;). It is an investment, most times,
that signifies stability, maturity and readiness for grown up living. It also
makes our mothers incredibly proud of us, like in a “My baby did good” kinda
way.
So
why don’t most of us have one? Maybe because
- ·
A: they’re usually ridiculously expensive
- ·
B: we feel like we can live without them
- ·
C: we’re not quite ready to take that big step
- ·
D: we don’t really know how to go about headboarding.
But,
it’s great to have a room that is well decorated so that your place of sleeping
is calm and restful and a space you look forward to coming to. You can and
should have a space that reflects your personality and makes you feel like
lingering in bed a little longer than usual. It would also be nice to have a
pretty space to show guests when they ask for the Dreaded Tour… In short, Just Do It.
So,
here’s a catalogue of ideas to help us young adults to source or put together a
simple, reasonable-cost, unique
headboard. It will change your life to have one, I promise. Imagine no more
incapacitating headaches from banging your head on the wall in that moment you
forget that you don’t have a headboard! I mean, that’s pretty life-changing.

Intrigued by the different options, but my single self *loves* the first bookshelf concept with the white bookshelves. The ringed-up me would go for one of the tapestries, possibly the Asian inspired one.

The bookshelves are brilliant, right? Especially because you're a book lover. White is a good colour option because it blends in with the wall and gives your books the spotlight.
DeleteI have to say my favourite is the first of the metal headboards. Its simple and elegant, it may not solve the problem of hitting your head on the wall and losing pillows in the crack between the bed and wall. However it is brings a lot of elegance to the room, especially when complementing the bed covers
ReplyDeleteYes, that one was really simple and "elegant" is exactly the term for it. You could probably get a good wrought iron craftsman to make something like this for you. Or a company that makes metal screens for gardens...
